In short
ChatGPT is a general assistant that also draws pictures. You can use ChatGPT for visual supports, but you get a new picture every time. Áigi Plan is built for visual supports for children with adhd, autism and other neurodevelopmental conditions, and its AI builds the visual support from a library of symbols in one and the same style.
Need a single picture for something else? ChatGPT. Should the child recognise the same symbols tomorrow, next week and at school, in a schedule you can change without starting over? Áigi.

Visual supports with ChatGPT: what works
ChatGPT draws what you describe, and does it well. A dragon in a raincoat, a poster for the class party, a picture of that particular playground. You can upload a picture and ask for a change, and you get a new picture back. Ask for a morning routine in six steps, and you get a picture of a morning routine.
What ChatGPT does not have is a library. The toothbrush you got yesterday is not there as a symbol you can fetch today; you get a new toothbrush, drawn anew. And what you get is a picture. To change one step, you describe the change and get the whole schedule once more, as a new picture, where more than what you asked for may have changed.
Visual supports with AI in Áigi
Áigi Plan makes visual supports, and only that. The library has thousands of symbols in one and the same style, searchable in Swedish and English, and many of them are drawn with nine main characters so that you choose who the child in the picture is. The symbol for brushing teeth means that in every schedule you make, today and in a year.
You start in one of two ways. Describe what you need in your own words, for example a morning routine in six steps, and the AI builds a paper from the library’s symbols. Or pick a template and use it as it is, or let the AI fill it in for your everyday life. There are ready-made base formats, and if you want another layout, you ask the AI for it.
Then you change what is not right. Click a text and retype it, swap a symbol by searching, browsing or picking one of your own, drag a step to a new place, add times. With Change with AI you ask for the rest: add a step, add times, make it calmer, change the theme. Undo what you do not like. With Create matching you make the next paper in the same style.
What the library lacks, you photograph. Use the photo as it is, or let Photo to symbol turn it into a symbol in the same style, saved among your own. Then you print on A4, put it on the child’s tablet with Screen, or send a link to the paper to the other adults.
ChatGPT draws a picture. Áigi builds the visual support.
Where Áigi wins
- The same symbol every time, so what the child has learned to recognise keeps holding.
- A library you build on: your photos become symbols in the same style and stay.
- Change one step without redoing the whole schedule, and undo if it went wrong.
- Paper, the child’s screen and a share link in the same tool.
- Founded by a psychologist and built for children with neurodevelopmental conditions.
Where ChatGPT still wins
- A single picture of something that is in no library.
- Pictures for things other than visual support: posters, invitations, stories.
- Text, questions and ideas. Áigi does not answer questions about adhd.
- When you want to decide exactly how the picture looks, down to the smallest detail.
How to choose
Use ChatGPT when you need a picture, a text or an answer. Use Áigi when you need a visual support the child will meet day after day: a schedule, a routine, a communication board, in the same symbols every time, that you can change tomorrow without starting over. They do not rule each other out. But the visual support job, Áigi does better.
Common questions about ChatGPT and visual supports
Can you use ChatGPT for visual supports?
Yes, for single pictures. ChatGPT can draw a schedule or a routine from what you write. But every picture is drawn anew, so the symbols rarely look the same from one time to the next, and to change a step you ask for a new picture. For visual supports the child should recognise day after day, a tool with a fixed symbol library is usually easier.
What does visual supports with AI mean in Áigi?
The AI draws no new pictures. It builds the visual support from symbols in the library: you describe what you need, for example a morning routine in six steps, and get a paper you can edit. You can also ask the AI for changes, such as adding a step, adding times, making it calmer or changing the theme.
Can I use pictures from ChatGPT in Áigi?
Yes. Upload them as your own images and put them in the cards next to the library’s symbols. You can also turn a picture into a symbol in the library’s style with Photo to symbol.
Does Áigi use ChatGPT?
Áigi uses AI models, but the symbols are our own, drawn and approved by us. In Create with AI, the AI picks and arranges symbols from the library. In Photo to symbol, your photo becomes a symbol in the library’s style.
Do the symbols always look the same?
Yes. The same word gives the same symbol, and the main character you picked follows you into everything you make. That makes it easier for the child to recognise the symbols from one schedule to the next.
What does Áigi cost?
Free to try. Standard gives you unlimited papers, your own images, sharing and Screen. Pro adds creating papers and symbols with AI. All prices are on the Pricing page.
Where is what I make stored?
Papers and images are stored in the EU, and you delete your own whenever you want. More under Trust.
