About us

We build the future of visual support

We build visual support with AI, grounded in psychology. A symbol library in one style, an AI that builds the visual support from it, and an editor where you change it until it fits your family.

Visual support needs to be built for today

Visual supports are schedules, routines and communication boards made of pictures. They are used with children who have adhd, autism or other neurodevelopmental conditions, at home, in school and in care. Many tools for visual support were built in the 1990s. Áigi is built for today.

Making visual supports often takes a long time. The symbols rarely look like the child’s own day, the software costs money and takes training, or it means hours of copying images into PowerPoint and Word. The result rarely shows the child’s own things and places.

In Áigi Plan you describe what you need, and Áigi proposes a finished visual support you can edit. Photograph an object, a room or a routine, and the photo becomes a symbol in the same style as the rest of the library. Print it, or show it on the child’s screen.

Áigi was founded by a psychologist and built for how visual supports are used with children with neurodevelopmental conditions. It is a tool for the adults who make visual supports, not a tool for diagnosis or treatment.

Where we are heading

Own photos as symbols, for everyone

Photo to symbol turns a photo of the child’s own things and places into a symbol in the library’s style. We want it for everyone who makes visual supports, and over time visual supports that adapt to each child.

A library for every country

Today the library is in Swedish and English. As Áigi opens in new countries, the goal is a symbol library adapted to each country.

Visual supports from those who know

Teachers, special educators and therapists make visual supports that others want to use. We are building creator accounts so their visual supports can reach more people through the templates.

The people building Áigi

Áigi Labs is a Swedish company working from Stockholm.

Lukas Nilsson

Lukas Nilsson

Co-founder · CEO

Lukas is a psychologist with a neurodevelopmental condition himself. For several years he worked with children with adhd and autism, at summer camps and clinically, and saw how long visual supports took to make. Áigi is the tool he was missing.

Simon Ullerstam

Simon Ullerstam

Co-founder · CTO

Simon builds the technology behind Áigi. He is driven by building systems that help people in everyday life.
